ABOUT THE INSTITUTION
The college preempts what education in the future would be because any learning environment that exists in isolation, divorced from the reality of the world outside the campus is bound to be progressive in every respect. Rathinam College of Arts and Science is a Co-educational Institution was established in year 2001 by the KPM educational Trust, which has 35 years of experience in promoting education in Coimbatore. The college is set in a sprawling 70 acre campus that is a part of the Rathinam Group of Institutions which has Rathinam Technical Campus, Rathinam International Public School and IT Park & Special Economic Zone.
Rathinam College of Arts and Science offer 13 Under Graduate Courses and 6 Post Graduate Courses and research programs. The institution has registered with ICTACT, CSI, CII, YI and NSDC. The advantages that it offers to the students are indeed enormous with project & in-house training and part-time job at the IT Park and SEZ within the campus. Access to professionals, real time experience and better institutional industry interaction is facilitated by its proximity of the SEZ.
The department was started in 2001 and it has grown excellently in academic and research work. At present, the department offers four undergraduate degree and two postgraduate degree programmers and Research Programme M.Phil and Ph.D. In undergraduate programmes Computer science, Computer Applications, Information Technology and Computer Technology are offered. Under the postgraduate, Computer Science and Information Technology are offered. Department offers an outstanding opportunity for budding professional to polish their skills and outperform their competitors. The department is equipped with state of the art computing and internet facilities (10 Mbps). The department has well experienced faculty members with excellent knowledge in IT. More than 70% of the students have been placed in reputed in IT companies through placement cell.
The workshop aims to provide an insight of simulations tool NS2. It’s is a free and open source discrete event simulator developed at UC Berkeley. It’s simply an event driven simulation tool that has proved useful in studying the nature of communication N/W. It covers a large part of application, protocols, and network element & traffic model. The main objective of the workshop is to provide knowledge about NS-2 for scientific & Research purpose. This programme is aimed to provide hands-on approach to Students, Researchers from Academic and Industry where they can learn more than mere basics, share recent developments, new design and ideas in NS2.

- New agent implementation
- New queue Implementation
- Location aware & Energy aware design
- Routing Decision Based on Energy level.
Seats are limited to 50 participants. The interested persons have to apply before the deadline 19th August 2015. The Registration fee covers Lunch and Refreshments. No TA/DA shall be paid to the participants.
Accommodation will not be provided by the Organizers. Participants have to make their own accommodation. The participants are expected to bear TA/DA themselves. Assistance will be provided for arranging accommodation in hotels.
