Report of “National level workshop on Android App and Security“on 16th and 17th December 2016

Rathinam college of Arts and Science, Department of Computer Science has conducted “National level workshop on Android App and Security“on 16th and 17th December 2016. The workshop was inaugurated and the Presidential address was given by Prof.R.Manickam, CEO and the Principal, Rathinam College of Arts and Science spoke about the development and importance of Android technologies. Special address about Android App Development and the session was handled by the Chief Guest Mr.C.Manjunathan, Managing Director, Piroot Technologies.
Android App is an advanced technology which has replaced the older mobile technology of only sending text messages. It is a multitasking technology which is user friendly and enable everyone to gather information through a single hardware application. It helps us to find many information without  any difficulty. Android App is an emerging technology which had changed the usage of mobile phones drastically . This is an inevitable technology.
The main source in which we can attain success in bringing cashless India is only through Android App. This is the only mode through which we can make India digital. Since this is an National need, we have conducted National Level Seminar on Android App development programme  in our  college where  participants had known the importance of Android App and had created individual App Successfully.
Students, Academicians, Industrialists and Research Scholars from more than 10 colleges around 120 participants took part in this workshop and got benefited. During workshop participants learnt Android installation, Activities, Android Installation in mobile device and upload the App in google playstore and started developing Android App.
The faculty members of  Computer Science department made the arrangements.

Greetings from Rathinam Group of Institutions & Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII).
For holistic development of children they need to be provided with an environment that allows them to experiment with their thoughts, ideas and creativity.  In the absence of right stimulus for growth, they will be limited in their ability to perceive, judge and reason.  Putting in place the right system, mechanism and methodology to aid their growth can help make achievers out of children.
Rathinam Group of Institutions in association with Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India has planned to provide a powerful platform to children across India to evolve, by getting them to know their own personality, the factors that affect development and by imparting them a perspective that shapes their behavior and responses to different situations.
Rathinam Group of Institutions has planned to conduct winter camps on Entrepreneurial Stimulation for Children with this objective.  Its first camp has been scheduled during 25th – 28th January, 2017.
The objective of the camp is to inculcate the “Spirit of Enterprise and Achievement” in children so that they target higher-order achievements.
Highlights of the Camp:
  • 13-17 year old children are eligible.  The number of participants is limited to 100 only.  Adequate arrangements are made for girls.
  • Since focus is on activities, there is no language bar.  However, participants are expected to communicate in either of these languages: English or Tamil.
  • Activities include mental gyms, motivation and creativity exercises, puzzles, value education, and presentations, learning through success stories, industry visits and Yoga.
  • A parents’ meet will be organized to brief them on their ward’s performance and potential.
  • Formal and informal interaction with well-known entrepreneurs and achievers from various fields will be organized to motivate the children to target mega triumphs in life.
Registration Fee:
The fee for the programme is ₹12000 /per participant (include service tax), which includes tuition fee, camp material and board and lodging.  It does not include travel cost, out-of-pocket expenses and medical insurance, if any.
Registration can be made by sending a brief resume of the candidate

National Level Workshop on MATLAB - NLWMATLAB'17 - 11-02-2017

Department of Computer Science is planned to conduct a workshop on MATLAB during 11th Feb. 2017.

To Download : Event Poster   Registration Form

Theme of the workshop.
Workshop Theme is to aid researchers and programmers with the knowledge on the concept of Matlab. Due to increase in parallelism in computer architecture and development of novel mathematical algorithm, research in many fields in Science and Engineering has started moving from theoretical to computational methods. There is a requirement to employ latest tools, computing facilities and innovative mathematical algorithms to solve complex engineering and science problems in cutting-edge research areas. Also in the areas of difficulties in carrying out direct experiments to understand the underlying basic principles, simulations are needed. Also the non-linearity existing in the system of differential equations related to the solving industrial problems demands special focus on modeling. Thus the main purpose of this workshop is to get the participants familiar with existing computational tools available to solve complex mathematical elements appearing in their area of research.
The workshop will emphasize on the introduction to various topics on MATLAB programming and its practical using tool boxes such as ANN, Fuzzy logic, optimization, data analysis and curve fitting.

  • Introduction to MATLAB programming
  • Technology Understanding Image and Video Analytics.
  • Fundamentals of Image and Video Processing
  • Challenges and Opportunities in the field of Image
  • Video Processing

Just-A-Minute (or JAM) is an all round-fun event that is all about the control of the mind over the mouth. Can you make it through sixty seconds of non-stop talking without hesitation, repetition, or deviation? Or will the sheer pressure make you crumble and have your competitors pounce on you in an instant?
*                 The JAM master is god. No questions or arguments once the final decision has been made.
*                 To object, slam the table and say “JAM”. The JAM master decides when you are allowed to put forth your objection
*                 You get a penalty if the competition objects on any of the following counts:
                                                          i.          you object out of turn
ii.          You stutter, stammer, and generally indulge in “time-wasting tactics”. These include efforts to buy time like interspersing your talk with “uhh”, “aah” etc...
iii.          Early start and late start
iv.          Speaking too fast or too slow
                                                        v.          Grammatical errors
vi.           Undue stress on words, undue emphasis in the sentences
vii.          Repetition of a previously used idea
viii.          Not following the “random rules” as set by the JAM master.
